Where manufacturing hiring gets stuck

  • The job title hides the task

“Production experience” can mean packing, machine operation or inspection. Supervisors need to know what the applicant actually did.

With AuraHRAsk about the tasks, checks and equipment relevant to your vacancy.

  • Quality depends on everyday decisions

A line needs people who raise a defect or hazard rather than pass it to the next station. A CV does not show their reasoning.

With AuraHRDiscuss a defect or hazard scenario and review the candidate’s explanation.

  • Screening competes with production

Supervisors screen between production runs. Applicants for the next shift may be working elsewhere when the call arrives.

With AuraHRCandidates interview in their own time; supervisors review before the practical assessment.

Hiring for Georgia’s production teams

Geostat counted 98,793 people employed in manufacturing in 2025. A Ministry of Economy survey found that 18% of manufacturing enterprises had vacancies in the year preceding September 2024. These figures cover the whole sector, rather than production operators alone.

Follow the interview with a practical assessment

The report records a candidate’s account of their work. It does not certify machine operation, safe behaviour or product quality. Use a supervised practical assessment, verify qualifications and provide training for your site.

Questions the interviewer asks

A starting set for this kind of role. AuraHR drafts questions from your job description, you choose what is asked, and the interviewer follows up when an answer is vague.

Interview and practical test

What a spoken answer shows, and what the line shows

The voice interview and the practical assessment answer different questions. Used in that order, the first one tells the supervisor what to look for in the second.

From the voice interview

  • Which tasks and checks the candidate says they have done
  • How they reason about a defect or a hazard
  • How clearly they hand over an open problem
  • Which shifts they can work

From the practical assessment

  • Whether they can run or set up the equipment
  • Pace and accuracy at the station
  • Safe behaviour while the line is running
  • Valid qualifications and certificates

The report records what the candidate said, with the quote behind every level. It does not certify a skill, so bring it to the practical assessment as a list of things to check.

Common questions

Can each production role have its own screening questions?

Yes. Use different vacancies for packing, production and quality roles, with the relevant questions for each. Keep the questions and evaluation levels consistent for applicants to the same role.

Does a voice interview replace a practical test or safety training?

No. Use it to discuss experience, quality decisions and how candidates respond to hazards. Your team still needs to verify qualifications, assess practical skills and provide site-specific safety training.

Do candidates need to install anything?

No. The interview runs in the browser from a personal link. A device check for the microphone, and the camera or screen when a vacancy uses them, runs first.

Does the AI decide who gets hired?

Your team decides who to hire. Interview answers receive levels with supporting quotes. CV scores can sort applications for review, and your own knockout rules can set applications aside. You can review and restore those applications.
