Where clinic hiring gets stuck

  • Reception is the first voice a patient hears

A registrar explains preparation, prices and waiting times to people who are worried or unwell. A CV does not show how that explanation sounds.

With AuraHRHear every applicant explain a routine instruction before you meet them.

  • Medical questions arrive at the desk

Patients ask the front desk about symptoms and results. The role needs someone who passes those questions to a clinician and does not answer them.

With AuraHRAsk a boundary scenario and read how the candidate hands the question on.

  • Rota gaps are found late

Registration opens early, laboratories take samples in the morning and many clinics work on Saturdays. The schedule often comes up only at the final interview.

With AuraHRAsk about your actual desk hours in every interview.

Patient reception

From the front desk to the clinician

A registrar’s work is a chain of small handoffs, and the patient notices each one. Build your questions around the stages, and you hear where an applicant is confident and where they guess.

  1. 01

    Greet and confirm

How do they confirm who the patient is and what the visit is for, without others at the desk overhearing?

  2. 02

    Explain the next step

Can they explain the wait, the preparation or the payment in plain words?

  3. 03

    Pass on medical questions

When a patient asks about symptoms or results, whom do they call, and what do they tell the patient meanwhile?

  4. 04

    Record it

What do they note so that the nurse or doctor does not have to ask again?

These stages cover reception work only. The interview does not assess diagnosis, triage or any clinical skill; your medical leads verify those.

Common questions

Does the interview assess clinical knowledge?

No. The interview covers how a candidate explains, listens and passes a question on. Your medical leads verify licences and assess clinical competence separately, and the hiring decision stays with your team.

Can candidates answer without sharing patient information?

Yes. Word the questions as hypothetical situations, and ask candidates to describe past work without naming patients. The sample questions on this page are written that way.

Do candidates need to install anything?

No. The interview runs in the browser from a personal link. A device check for the microphone, and the camera or screen when a vacancy uses them, runs first.

Does the AI decide who gets hired?

Your team decides who to hire. Interview answers receive levels with supporting quotes. CV scores can sort applications for review, and your own knockout rules can set applications aside. You can review and restore those applications.
